Samuel Widdowson is a director in the global Construction practice. He specializes in forensic delay investigations and analysis, live project planning, construction logistics, methodology, strategy, and risk management. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has a Master of Law degree in construction law and arbitration. He has a mixture of live and dispute/claims project experience from the UK, Middle East, and Asian construction industries on building and civil engineering projects spanning more than 17 years.
Samuel's project experience includes the planning and construction of hotels, residential buildings, commercial office buildings, airports, educational facilities, sports arenas, healthcare facilities, swimming pools, leisure facilities, retail facilities, high-rise structures, oil storage facilities, process plants, vessel conversions, off-shore oil & gas, dredging/land reclamation, rail, and highways.
He has provided independent planning expert opinion and testified in international arbitration, within which he also gained experience in providing concurrent evidence (“hot-tubbing”). Samuel has also assisted in the preparation of numerous expert planning reports, attended arbitral hearings, assisted and led joint expert meetings, and provided forensic delay investigations on construction disputes acting for both the claimant and defendant/respondent.
