Mark Tuggle is a director in the Financial Services practice and manages the banking, insurance & capital markets practice in the Dallas office. He specializes in consumer banking and automobile finance with specific focus on default management and strategy, indirect underwriting, operations transformation, compliance, risk assessment and governance.
Before joining Navigant, Mark led consumer and auto default operations, including the stand-up of auto leasing at SouthTrust Bank and Compass Bank and the creation or enhancement of collection and recovery operations at US Bank and BBVA. Mark recently held the role of Director of Collection and Recovery Disciplines and Transformation at BBVA where he directed the buildout and implementation of the operational and digital road map for the bank’s retail default operations.
During a 34-year career in banking, Mark served as the senior default executive for teams in excess of 500 FTE where he gained deep expertise in the default cycle across consumer lending and deposit products. He has directed operations and enhancement initiatives for collection strategy, contact centers, real estate single point of contact, debt recovery, auto repossession, vehicle re-marketing, ancillary product operations, GAP and CPI processing, decedent operations, and bankruptcy. Mark has also sponsored and led large scale system installs of CACS, FICO DM10, RMS, Aspect and Verint.
Mark was one of the early adopters and promoters of digital customer self-help online experiences. About a decade ago, Mark pioneered a concept for one of the first online portal for collections customers to make a payment or a promise to pay, update demographics or schedule a call back. This work was featured in American Banker.
