Areas of Expertise

A director in the London office, Travis Taylor is responsible for the firm’s international arbitration practice in the UK, where he focuses on valuations and damages in international arbitration and litigation. Travis has significant international experience involving complex accounting and valuation issues, having specialized in valuations and forensic accounting since 1999. He assists clients in many contexts, including litigation support, portfolio valuations, tax valuations, debt restructuring, and regulatory and financial reporting.

Travis has carried out over 300 substantive valuations in his career involving contentious and noncontentious matters in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Russia/CIS, Africa, North America, and Australasia. He has been appointed as an expert in international arbitration proceedings brought under ICSID, ICC, HKIAC, and LMAA rules, as well as in UK High Court matters. He has given oral testimony in the United Kingdom, United States, France, and Hong Kong.

Select engagement experience includes:

  • Appointed as expert by a global financial institution in relation to a UK High Court valuation matter arising out of the Madoff Ponzi scheme
  • Appointed as expert by a UK hedge fund to value a Mongolian gold mining operation for the purposes of negotiating exit consideration with remaining shareholders
  • Appointed as joint expert in an international arbitration (ICSID) matter involving a Belgian investor and the Republic of Serbia
  • Valuation of several luxury brands for the purposes of a corporate reorganization involving negotiation and agreement with multiple European tax authorities
