Konstantin Staschus is a director at Navigant, he advises European utility clients on strategies to lead and shape the energy transition towards more renewables and climate protection. He focuses on how to leverage digitalization, especially the energy cloud and platforms in both the regulated network and the competitive utility businesses. Konstantin specializes in TSO/DSO cooperation; data exchange; power system flexibility; sector coupling with gas, mobility, and heating; R&D prioritization; grid planning; and network code implementation.
Konstantin, who joined Navigant through the Ecofys acquisition in 2016, previously worked with Pacific Gas and Electric, USA, where he held management positions in German utility associations, including six years as managing director of VDN, the association of more than 400 German electricity transmission and distribution system operators.
In 2009, Konstantin began his mandate as the first Secretary-General of ENTSO-E in Brussels. ENTSO-E has many EU legal mandates including 10-year network development plans, R&D planning, and network codes on connection conditions, market, and operational rules. Since 2017, he has worked at Navigant's Berlin office and consults part-time for ENTSO-E to chair Cigré’s Study Committee C1 and vice-chair the European Technology & Innovation Platform “Smart Networks for Energy Transition.”
