Andrew Rea is a managing director in the Energy practice, based in the Los Angeles office. He focuses on energy and water markets issues and strategy throughout the U.S. He has performed numerous studies of the North American and Central American natural gas and power markets in support of power projects, transmission investments, renewable contract analysis, LNG facilities, storage development, and asset acquisition. He has led the assessment of major new electric transmission projects throughout the U.S.
Andrew is at the forefront of developing and implementing cutting edge strategies to simplify the deployment of renewable energy in North America including evaluating renewable projects and contracts for major utility and institutional clients. He has extensive experience leading energy asset strategy and valuation engagements. He has considerable expertise in market assessment for both green field and mature market environments in the U.S., Europe, and the Far East.
Andrew has extensive experience in leading organizational change initiatives, the implementation of new processes and systems for trading, procurement, and risk management organizations. He has served as a senior advisor on major transformation projects on behalf of a broad range of clients. He has developed and implemented merger and acquisition strategies in industry and on behalf of major energy companies. He has testified as an expert witness before regulatory and judicial bodies in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, he has lobbied state and federal regulatory agencies in the U.S. and Canada.
Andrew was born in Bangor, North Wales, and holds dual U.S. and British citizenship.
