Markus Offermann is a Associate Director in the Global Construction practice, responsible to ensure the quality of building related works at Ecofys. With his core expertise in the field of integrative and sustainable energy concepts for new buildings as well as ambitious refurbishment.
Special foci to mention: air-conditioning, heatpumps and system optimization – he is an experienced project leader of national and international research projects. Additionally, Markus has a background of a physicist and more than 20 years of expertise in the energy and building technology sector.
Prior to joining Ecofys in 2007, he collected eight years practical experiences at the R&D unit at one of the leading German technical building engineering offices. He was involved in the concept design and realization of a variety of outstanding projects designed by famous international architects. Among Mark's projects, many are directly or indirectly related to the European Building Performance Directive (EPBD) with topics like cost optimality and impacts of energy saving measures for setting adequate building standards e.g. the 2020 update of the German "Energieeinsparverodnung" (EnEV). As Associate Director at the Naviant company Ecofys, he is responsible to insure the quality of the building related works at Ecofys.
