Thomas McNulty is a Director in the Valuations & Financial Risk Management practice. As a consultant he has advised more than 48 clients drawing on his valuation, transactions, risk management, treasury and international credentials. Specifically, he has assisted clients with the valuation of securities, business units, acquisition targets, derivatives, and equity incentive plans. In industry and as an advisor, he has worked on more than $37 billion in M&A deals and has valued more than $8.5 billion notional in futures, options, and other derivatives.
Starting his career on Wall Street with Brown Brothers Harriman, Tom was trained in debt and equity capital markets, M&A, valuation, and credit skills. Following Brown Brothers, he entered the U.S. Foreign Service and was stationed in the Philippines and in Russia. He has experience in denied area operations and counter-terrorism. Tom also served a tour in the State Department’s Economic Bureau, where he was a Staff Officer in the International Energy Policy Office.
Following business school, Tom moved to Houston to join Enron International, where he worked on a variety of acquisition and development deals in the energy sector, primarily in Asia. He then enjoyed a succession of transaction, treasury, and risk management roles of increasing responsibility while at Duke Energy. Tom also held a senior treasury role with Plains All American Pipeline, where he enhanced his credit and his midstream crude oil, refined products, and natural gas expertise.
