Jay Hanson is an affiliate expert for Navigant. He is a seasoned financial professional with nearly forty years of experience as an auditor, national office practitioner, standard setter and regulator. Jay was most recently a Board Member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board from 2011 to 2016, where he helped to carry out its mission to oversee the audits of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.

Prior to joining the PCAOB Board, Jay spent nearly 32 years at RSM US, LLP (Formerly McGladrey & Pullen, LLP). At the time of his appointment to the PCAOB Board, Jay was the National Director of Accounting, overseeing the firm's accounting guidance and training practices, as well as leader of the firm's Accounting Standards Group. Over his career at RSM he served clients ranging from small businesses and not-for-profit organizations to multinational public companies. He was also responsible for the development and coordination of local and national training programs and a frequent speaker at national conferences.

Mr. Hanson has also served in various roles in standard setting organizations including serving as a member of the Emerging Issues Task Force of the Financial Accounting Standards Board from 2006 to 2011. He also was a member of the Financial Reporting Executive Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 2005 to 2011, serving as its Chairman from 2008-2011.
