Matt is a Managing Director in the Delivery Innovation team within the Healthcare practice.
Prior to Navigant, Matt was a Senior Director in Labor Productivity and Process Innovation at FTI Consulting where he specialized in organizational leadership restructuring and span of control consolidation, operationally-focused process innovation aimed at driving labor productivity improvements and overall financial turnaround assessment/implementation of organizations having defaulted on bond covenants.
Before he was a consultant, Matt was a Vice President of Operations at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was responsible for the management of 1000 FTEs and $500M in revenues in the ICUs, Emergency/Trauma Service Line, Perioperative Services and the Radiology Department. During his time at UT Medical Center, Matt was responsible for leading successful improvement efforts aimed at decreasing hospital-acquired conditions, increasing patient satisfaction (most notably in the ED), increasing OR utilization and driving down operational expenses across his areas of responsibility.
Prior to Joining UT Medical Center, Matt was the Ambulatory Services Director at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis where he was responsible for ambulatory procedural areas and residency-based clinics. In addition to his line management responsibility at BJH, he was an integral member of the activation team responsible for operationalizing a 60-suite perioperative renovation. Matt was also the lead in designing and activating the region’s only comprehensive Diabetes Care Center.
