Kornelis Blok is a director at Navigant with extensive research and consultancy experience in energy efficiency improvement and clean energy production. He has played an important role in the development of international climate policies and has worked in many countries. Kornelis was a lead author for the Third and Fourth Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the institution that was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.
Kornelis was one of the founders of Ecofys, which was acquired by Navigant in 2016. With Ecofys, he won the Erasmus award for the most innovative company of the Netherlands in 2008. Kornelis has authored or co-authored over 100 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as several books and about 250 research reports, conference contributions, and other scientific publications. He is a chair of energy systems analysis at Delft University of Technology.
