Today Navigant (NYSE: NCI) announced its sixth consecutive perfect score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual scorecard for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) equality. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI) is a national benchmarking tool of corporate policies and practices related to workplace quality.
“As a firm, we have continued to develop programs and initiatives that create and promote an inclusive environment for all,” stated Gene Raffone, Executive Director and Chief Human Capital Officer at Navigant. “We’re honored by the continued recognition by the Corporate Equality Index for our efforts on behalf of the LGBT community. We are committed to demonstrating the importance of inclusion regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or generational differences, and believe our efforts are creating a more innovative and inspiring work environment and ensure our clients receive the best possible thinking from our diverse teams.”
The 2015 CEI rated 972 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Navigant’s efforts in satisfying all of CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent rating and the designation as a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.” This honor cements Navigant’s commitment to being an employer of choice for LGBT professionals.
"In order to achieve a perfect score, a company has to show a deep and serious commitment to treating their LGBT employees fairly and equally on the job,” said Chad Griffin, Human Rights Campaign President. “We also look at whether a company is advocating for global LGBT equality. For six years, Navigant has gone above and beyond the call of duty, making commitment to equality a fundamental aspect of its corporate values."
Throughout 2014, Navigant and its professionals were at the forefront of fostering a progressive work environment, creating awareness, supporting an open exchange of ideas, encouraging an inclusive culture and understanding the needs of its colleagues and clients:
“As today’s business community becomes increasingly diverse, heightened awareness as well as understanding of multiple beliefs and cultures is critical to Navigant’s continued strong value to clients,” said Jes Rivas, Associate Director within Navigant’s Energy practice and member of the LGBTA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Allies) Employee Resource Group. “I am proud to work for a company that embraces the many differences of its employees as a positive differentiator – for employees and for clients alike.”
