Navigant Cymetrix, a leader in end-to-end revenue cycle solutions, today announced it was selected by University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Health System on behalf of itself and its members (collectively referred to as “UABHS”) to manage revenue cycle operations.
This collaborative, seven-year agreement covers physician and hospital revenue cycle operations and is intended to provide value and consistency across the health system. Revenue cycle management, which encompasses administrative and business office functions associated with the processing and payment of medical claims, will be streamlined. The initial phase of the program includes UAB Hospital and centralized clinics of University of Alabama Health Services Foundation, UABHS’ faculty practice plan, involving more than 1,000 physicians across the state. Implementation planning begins in August 2016 and services are scheduled to go live beginning October 1, 2016.
“Navigant and UABHS have a long history of working together in the areas of performance improvement and revenue cycle and we are proud to collaborate to manage the revenue cycle with quality and customer service as key areas of focus,” said David Zito, managing director and Navigant Healthcare segment leader. “Our end-to-end revenue cycle management solutions will help UABHS reach full potential from its revenue cycle.”
As the healthcare industry transitions to a value payment model, Navigant Cymetrix offers UABHS the ability to consolidate revenue cycle workflows, to better integrate functions, to improve processes, and to collect more effectively.
“The collaboration between UABHS and Navigant Cymetrix offers several advantages, including economies of scale, consistency of services and the ability to quickly respond to industry changes,” said Reid Jones, chief operating officer for UABHS. “Most importantly, we believe our patients will appreciate the benefits inherent in the new streamlined and simplified processes.”
As part of its suite of comprehensive revenue cycle management solutions, Navigant Cymetrix effectively and efficiently manages the revenue cycle performance of its healthcare provider clients through its extended business office services, including accounts receivable management, payer account follow up, and self-pay account resolution.
Navigant Cymetrix is recognized with industry accolades for its solutions, including receiving the Best in KLAS Award for excellence in extended business office services in 2015/2016, 2013 and 2012. It is also one of only five firms recognized as MAP Keys Compliant by Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
