Current Status, Implications for States and Providers
The Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) Program is a relatively new Medicaid program that is making between $60 million and $11.4 billion per State available to incentivize the transition from “volume to value.” Originally structured to improve the care of Medicaid beneficiaries, DSRIP now accommodates state-led innovation in the quality and value of care provided across all patient populations in states. With tighter state budgets, constricting reimbursement levels, and an increased scrutiny of health outcomes, DSRIP could be much needed relief for both providers and states.
