Firm recognized among key Energy Optimization suppliers for excellence in energy savings research
CHICAGO, May 20, 2014 – DTE Energy has named Navigant (NYSE: NCI) it’s “Most Innovative Supplier” of 2013. DTE Energy, a diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide, annually recognizes the outstanding performance of its top energy efficiency solutions providers. The “Most Innovative Supplier” award is based on a supplier’s ability to deliver innovative solutions that contribute to the success of the DTE’s energy efficiency program portfolio.
“The Navigant team, with support of DTE Energy, demonstrated its ability to apply thought leadership and develop innovative approaches to address a critically important issue,” said Craig McDonald, Managing Director. “I am very proud of our team’s innovative and rigorous analysis as well as DTE’s support and willingness to try an out-of-the-box approach in order to further the success of their energy efficiency program.”
The award was announced in March 2014 during DTE’s Second Annual Supplier Summit, which brought DTE’s key suppliers together to network and learn about the company’s 2014 plans and priorities. Navigant was acknowledged for its energy savings attribution research related to retail sales of standard Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs within DTE Electric’s service territory. Navigant’s research fully captured the impact of DTE’s upstream CFL program beyond the traditional estimates of free riders and other energy efficient actions undertaken by their customers.
“We needed research into the effectiveness of our CFL program and Navigant came through with a model that earned praise from a panel of nationwide experts after its review,” said Vicki Campbell, DTE Energy director, Energy Efficiency. “We were pleased to select Navigant as the ‘Most Innovative’ among our many suppliers.”
