NAVIGANT’S SOLUTION FOR STRUCTURED DATA REVIEW
The legal industry has mastered the art of managing unstructured data. Working on behalf of their clients, outside counsel, along with expert consultants, routinely manage document discovery, including the review of massive volumes of emails, business documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, and other information sources in search of responsive or privileged materials. Using sophisticated platforms and advanced analytics, searching and prioritizing these huge collections has matured over recent years.
Structured data, however, presents unique challenges. Troves of data live in massive SQL or Oracle databases, hidden behind the application layers of purpose-built tools such as PeopleSoft, SAP, and Salesforce, which clients use for human resources administration, talent acquisition and recruiting, customer relationship management, and several other purposes.
Until now, there has been no streamlined way to access and review structured data. Even if firms were successful in extracting the underlying information and dumping it into spreadsheets, they lacked the ability to effectively and quickly search, summarize, and tag records in a user-friendly format.
