Navigant developed a tool for TenneT that provides companies with insight into business cases for large-scale electricity storage
Ecofys, a Navigant company, has developed a new electricity storage valuation tool for the Dutch grid operator TenneT. The increasing share of renewables in the overall electricity supply makes flexibility in storage methods a prerequisite for a sustainable power system. The free tool provides companies with insight into a business case for large-scale electricity storage.
Ecofys, a Navigant company, equipped the tool with a powerful method to determine the optimal dispatch of storage assets for specific applications. It includes a comprehensive set of technical and economic parameters for large-scale storage projects, and can also be used to perform financial analyses. Users can select one of the predefined example cases, or define their own projects.
Users of the tool are provided with a comprehensive overview of results, including the internal rate of return and a breakdown of the net present value at project level, as well as energy cycles, energy throughput, and detailed annual cash flow results.
