During the Utility Executives’ Roundtable, Navigant and Public Utilities Fortnightly captured insight on the industry’s path forward from seven utilities in the Northeast
Navigant and Public Utilities Fortnightly (PUF) recently sat down with executives from seven utilities in the Northeast for a discussion on current industry challenges, changes ahead, and how to prepare for utility's role in electricity's future.
Hosted by Con Edison at its historic Manhattan headquarters, participants in the Utility Executives’ Roundtable had the opportunity to share, debate, and listen to views on issues affecting the electric industry today and what the utility of the future might look like tomorrow.
PUF’s editor Steve Mitnick led the first part of the discussion, asking executives why they think the role of the utility in the electricity industry’s future has become a major topic, as well as how the utility’s role and scope are changing, and what the risks and benefits are. See what insights the execs had to share in this transcribed version of the discussion, which is available in February's issue of PUF. Check out key insights from the second part of the discussion and read the full discussion, also available in the March issue of PUF.

…Utilities will need to be the platform, the facilitator that knits everything together, and will need to meet customer expectations that are continually changing and increasing.”
