Navigant authors Power Engineering article on DER orchestrators
Distributed energy resources (DER) are proliferating globally, with capacity expected to quadruple between 2015 and 2024 to 531 gigawatts (GW). As utilities and investors increasingly consider DER as a valuable tool, Navigant’s Ken Horne, Dan Bradley, and Michelle Bebrin explain the value a DER project orchestrator can also bring to the table.
“A DER project orchestrator, much like a network orchestrator, provides proactive coordination of stakeholders to achieve value creation benefits for all,” according to a recent article in Power Engineering. In addition, “These benefits reach beyond the typical project finance and generation asset metrics of interest to traditional project developers, and include value propositions attractive to a wide range of stakeholders.”
