Colette Lamontagne on Leadership, the Future of Energy Storage and Balancing Her Roles at Navigant and ESA

Intelligent Utility Women-In-Energy Series

In June, Colette Lamontagne, director with Navigant’s Global Energy Practice, was named Chair of the Energy Storage Association’s (ESA) Board of Directors. Her consulting background and knowledge of energy storage technology, strategy and planning is helping the ESA and the industry to evolve.

She says, “Since technology performance has been validated, costs are declining, markets are opening up, and the value of energy storage is becoming evident, the energy storage industry is poised for growth and a new phase of commercialization. I am excited to be part of that.”

She also weighs in on the challenges and opportunities that come along with her role, saying: “We need to share lessons learned and work collaboratively. Storage exists to help the grid get better, to improve efficiency. In my mind, it’s a tool that utilities can use to make their jobs easier. And, so much can be learned if we all work together,” she said.
