A committee of Navigant India employees carried out the first service activity at Government L.P.S. Manvila in Trivandrum, India for Navigant’s Community Connections Service Month. Twenty-three employees from Navigant turned up for the event where vegetable seeds were handed over to the headmistress of the school to cultivate this land. The ward member of Attipra Panchayat, school authorities, PTA members, and two people from the HOPE organization joined in this noble cause.
Additionally as part of Community Connections Service Month, the Navigant Karunya team carried out a cleaning drive at Varkala Beach. Varkala, which draws thousands of tourists each year, has been battling plastic waste issues for some time now. The cleaning drive collected non-biodegradable waste including bottles, fishing nets, ropes, and more, which was given to the municipality for recycling. This service activity was organized in liaison with Dr. Nishad SK, who is spearheading the “Say No to Plastic” drive at Varkala Beach. Forty-nine employees participated in the beach cleaning event.
