Hospital Operations Innovation in a 13-Hospital System

Challenge

Navigant Consulting was engaged to lead a system-wide initiative to align the system’s strategic priorities with an accountable, focused organizational model designed deliver new levels of operational performance. The work has focused on Assessment, Solution Set Development, and Design and Implementation of initiatives to achieve $500M in system-wide performance improvement over five years, in addition to providing overall project management leadership and support. Within the system-wide initiative, the 13-hospitals were charged with achieving $49M-$60M in annual savings from hospital-specific operations.

Solution

The Hospital Operations Innovation initiative focused on top priority functional areas where workflow improvement opportunities were identified, redesigned and implemented to drive the optimization of resources.
