Paul Waide joined Navigant in July 2009 and is the Director and sector lead of the European Energy Practice. With over twenty years international experience in sustainable energy consulting at the highest level, he heads a team providing world renowned consulting services in the fields of regulatory, policy, technology and market assessment; technical and commercial due diligence for clean energy investors; commercial strategy, regulatory risk assessment and fund raising; market research; fund development; low carbon strategy and mergers and acquisition support. The group’s clients include leading international governments, clean energy investors, energy utilities, innovative technology providers, blue chip manufacturers, law firms, MDBs, IGOs and NGOs.

Prior to joining Navigant, Dr Waide was Senior Policy Analyst for Energy Efficiency at the International Energy Agency where he helped initiate and support many of the world’s leading sustainable energy policy initiatives. These include having a comprehensive and wide ranging set of policy measures adopted and endorsed by G8 heads of state and helping to create one of the world’s newest intergovernmental bodies to support policy dialogue and cooperation on energy efficiency among the world’s major economies.

Dr. Waide is the author of over 200 publications including nine books addressing sustainable energy issues. He is a frequent contributor to international energy policy discussions and is widely quoted in the media.
