As a Director in the Emerging Technologies & Business Strategy service group, Mr. Hervey focuses on service offerings related to T&D business strategy, performance improvement, and emerging technologies.
He was Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO of Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). LIPA is one of the nation's largest municipal electric utilities, serving over 1.1 million customers in an urban economy larger than many states. LIPA has over $3.6 billion revenues with repeated top quartile reliability performance. Mr. Hervey led all aspects of LIPA's preparedness and restoration efforts to Hurricane Sandy in 2012. In his 12 years at LIPA, he also served as Sr. Vice President of Operations and Executive Director of T&D Operations. Mr. Hervey was integrally involved in the transition of LIPA's T&D business to a new service provider under a public-private partnership model, a $600M/yr., 10-year contract aimed at first quartile performance in all aspects of the business. He also expanded LIPA's energy efficiency and renewable programs, and managed all aspects of LIPA's T&D strategy, operations & maintenance, and capital programs.
