The service provider market is not homogeneous; apart from the obvious difference in service scope that exist between the numerous service providers, there are two key models vying for attention; Global Service Providers (typically US-based custody banks which have developed their offering by incremental geographical steps) and Local Specialist Providers (consists of local, smaller organizations that address specific needs of a particular market).
Clearly each model has its attractions as well as strong adherents but what are the issues that determine which model suits best?
