Managing Director and leader of Navigant’s Energy Practice, Bill Dickenson, responds to the National Journal’s Energy & Environment Blog question, “Is the U.S. Losing the Clean Energy Race?”
Bill Dickenson suggests the answer to this question is a long-term solution – that the energy race is much bigger than who is currently manufacturing the world’s solar panels. If the U.S. is to ever regain its lead in the energy industry, it needs to ensure that our best and brightest embrace the opportunity by enrolling in engineering or other technical programs. Only then will the next generation of American innovators have the tools and intellectual horsepower to regain the U.S.’s once taken-for-granted lead in innovation in the energy field.
