Technology Adoption and Implementation

Technology Adoption Solutions (TAS) can be rewarding and profitable for healthcare organizations but they can also pose unique challenges.

Navigant’s Technology Adoption and Implementation Solutions consulting team has worked with a variety of systems in many health care settings. Our team has the knowledge, experience and resources necessary to develop and operate an efficient and high-quality doctor/patient/customer-focused electronic health care delivery system.

Navigant teams have the capabilities to handle the installation of an electronic practice management and health record system and to help clients use that system effectively. By leveraging our understanding of operational and clinical process and workflows, including coding, reimbursement and incentive knowledge (such as Meaningful Use filings), the Navigant team can continue to customize that technology by interfacing with and installing additional software products.

CASE STUDY:

EMR Implementation in Health System's 40 Ambulatory Clinics
A health system group of two hundred physicians located in the Midwest enlisted Navigant to help install an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) into its forty ambulatory clinics.  We worked in concert with the client throughout the engagement to provide a range of services which included completing operational redesign, developing and customizing the software, training practitioners, deploying the rollout and helping build the support infrastructure.  We completed the current state workflows for the 40 clinics, developed the best practice workflow as well as providing the training and installation of these workflow in an eight month period.  During the same eight months, we completed the pre-implementation work for the EMR deployment. This included an application upgrade, customization and training development.  We then installed the EMR into practices of 100 of the 200 practitioner.  As a general rule, the practitioners were back to their pre-implementation productivity levels within five weeks.  All milestones were met or exceeded expectations.
